Division Among the People

40 When they heard these words, ^bsome of the people said, “This really is ^cthe Prophet.” 41 Others said, “This is ^dthe Christ.” But some said, ^e“Is the Christ to come from Galilee? 42 Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes ^ffrom the offspring of David, and comes ^gfrom Bethlehem, the village ^hwhere David was?” 43 So there was ⁱa division among the people over him.

John 9:16
