You Are of Your Father the Devil
39They answered him, a“Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, b“If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did,Romans 3:30
30since cGod is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and dthe uncircumcised through faith.Romans 4:11
11 eHe received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was fto make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,Romans 9:6-8
6But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, 7and not all are children of Abraham gbecause they are his offspring, but h“Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” 8This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but ithe children of the promise are counted as offspring.Galatians 3:29
29And jif you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, kheirs according to promise.
