Joshua 11:19-20

19 There was not a city that made peace with the people of Israel except ^athe Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. They took them all in battle. 20 For it was the Lord’s doing ^bto harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be devoted to destruction and should receive no mercy but be destroyed, ^cjust as the Lord commanded Moses.

David Avenges the Gibeonites

1 Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year. And David ^dsought the face of the Lord. And the Lord said, “There is bloodguilt on Saul and on his house, because he put the Gibeonites to death.”
