Joshua 2:9-11

9 and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, ^aand that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land ^bmelt away before you. 10 For we have heard how the Lord ^cdried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and ^dwhat you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to ^eSihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction. ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)} 11 And ^gas soon as we heard it, ^hour hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for ⁱthe Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.

Joshua 5:1

The New Generation Circumcised

1 As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites ^jwho were by the sea, ^kheard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts ^lmelted and ^mthere was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.

2 Samuel 17:10

10 Then even the valiant man, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will utterly ⁿmelt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and that those who are with him are valiant men.
