Joshua 24:15

15 aAnd if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, bchoose this day whom you will serve, whether cthe gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or dthe gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. eBut as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua 24:19-20

19But Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord, for he is fa holy God. He is ga jealous God; hhe will not forgive your transgressions or your sins. 20 iIf you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then jhe will turn and do you harm and consume you, after having done you good.”

1 Samuel 7:3

3And Samuel said to all the house of Israel, kIf you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then lput away the foreign gods and the mAshtaroth from among you and ndirect your heart to the Lord oand serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”

1 Kings 18:21

21And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long pwill you go limping between two different opinions? qIf the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word.

2 Kings 17:33-34

33So they feared the Lord but also served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.

34To this day they do according to the former manner. They do not fear the Lord, and they do not follow the statutes or the rules or the law or the commandment that the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, rwhom he named Israel.

2 Kings 17:41

41 sSo these nations feared the Lord and also served their carved images. Their children did likewise, and their children’s childrenas their fathers did, so they do to this day.

Matthew 4:10
