Joshua 24:2-3

2 And Joshua said to all the people, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘Long ago, ^ayour fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, ^{▼▼Hebrew the River} Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and ^cthey served other gods. 3 ^dThen I took your father Abraham from beyond the River and ^eled him through all the land of Canaan, and made his offspring many. ^fI gave him Isaac.

Choose Whom You Will Serve

14 ^g“Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. ^hPut away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. 15 ⁱAnd if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, ^jchoose this day whom you will serve, whether ^kthe gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or ^lthe gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. ^mBut as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
