Joshua 6:17-18

17 And the city and all that is within it shall be ^adevoted to the Lord for destruction. ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); also verses 18, 21} Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she ^chid the messengers whom we sent. 18 But you, keep yourselves from the things devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted them you take any of the devoted things and make the camp of Israel ^da thing for destruction and ^ebring trouble upon it.

Joshua 7:12

12 ^fTherefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies. They ^gturn their backs before their enemies, because they have become ^hdevoted for destruction. ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)} I will be with you no more, unless you destroy ^jthe devoted things from among you.
