Joshua 9:18-20

18 But the people of Israel did not attack them, because the leaders of the congregation had sworn to them by the Lord, the God of Israel. Then all the congregation murmured against the leaders. 19 But all the leaders said to all the congregation, “We have sworn to them by the Lord, the God of Israel, and now we may not touch them. 20 This we will do to them: let them live, lest ^awrath be upon us, ^bbecause of the oath that we swore to them.”

Judges 11:35

35 And as soon as he saw her, he tore his clothes and said, “Alas, my daughter! You have brought me very low, and you have become the cause of great trouble to me. For I have opened my mouth to the Lord, ^cand I cannot take back my vow.”

David Avenges the Gibeonites

1 Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year. And David ^dsought the face of the Lord.
