15And the people of Israel said to the Lord, “We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please deliver us this day.” 16So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and ahe became impatient over the misery of Israel.

1 Kings 21:28-29

28And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 29“Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the disaster in his days; bbut in his son’s days I will bring the disaster upon his house.”

Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ 20And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and hran and iembraced him and jkissed him. 21And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. kI am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
