The Death of Samson
23Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to aDagon their god and to rejoice, and they said, “Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand.”1 Samuel 5:2
2Then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it up beside bDagon.2 Kings 1:2-3
2Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber in Samaria, and lay sick; so he sent messengers, telling them, “Go, inquire of cBaal-zebub, the god of Ekron, dwhether I shall recover from this sickness.” 3But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah ethe Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of fBaal-zebub, the god of Ekron?Jeremiah 2:13
13for my people have committed two evils:gthey have forsaken hme,

and hewed out cisterns for themselves,
broken cisterns that can hold no water.
