Judges 2:12-13

12 aAnd they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. bThey went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and cbowed down to them. dAnd they provoked the Lord to anger. 13They abandoned the Lord eand served the Baals and the Ashtaroth.

Judges 10:13-14

13Yet you have fforsaken me and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more. 14Go and cry out gto the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.”

Nehemiah 9:26-29

26 h“Nevertheless, they were disobedient and rebelled against you iand cast your law behind their back jand killed your prophets, who khad warned them in order to turn them back to you, land they committed great blasphemies. 27 mTherefore you gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer. nAnd in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them osaviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies. 28 pBut after they had rest they did evil again before you, and you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them. Yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, qand many times you delivered them according to your mercies. 29 rAnd you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet sthey acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, twhich if a person does them, he shall live by them, uand they turned a stubborn shoulder vand stiffened their neck and would not obey.

Psalms 106:35-41

35but they wmixed with the nations
and learned to do as they did.
36They served their idols,
which became xa snare to them.
37They ysacrificed their sons
and their daughters to zthe demons;
38they poured out innocent blood,
the blood of their sons and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was aapolluted with blood.
39Thus they abbecame unclean by their acts,
and acplayed the whore in their deeds.
40 Then adthe anger of the Lord was kindled against aehis people,
and he abhorred his afheritage;
41he aggave them into the hand of the nations,
so that those who hated them ruled over them.

Jeremiah 2:8

8The priests did not say, ‘Where is the Lord?’
ahThose who handle the law did not know me;
aithe shepherds
Or rulers
transgressed against me;
akthe prophets prophesied by Baal
and went after althings that do not profit.

Jeremiah 5:7-9

7 amHow can I pardon you?
Your children have forsaken me
anand have sworn by those who are no gods.
aoWhen I fed them to the full,
apthey committed adultery
aqand trooped to the houses of whores.
8They were well-fed, lusty stallions,
areach neighing asfor his neighbor’s wife.
9 atShall I not punish them for these things?

declares the Lord;
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?
