the orgies
Hebrew commotion
on the mountains.
gTruly in the Lord our God
is the salvation of Israel.
24“But from our youth the shameful thing has devoured all for which our fathers labored, their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters. 25 hLet us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For iwe have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”

Him Whom They Have Pierced

10“And pI will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and qpleas for mercy, so that, rwhen they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, sthey shall mourn for him, tas one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. 11 uOn that day vthe mourning in Jerusalem will be as great was the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

Matthew 5:4

2 Corinthians 7:10-11

10For ygodly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas zworldly grief produces death. 11For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, aawhat zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.
