2 The Lord said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, ^alest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

Isaiah 10:15

15 Shall ^bthe axe boast over him who hews with it,
or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it?
As if a rod should wield him who lifts it,
or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!
