Lamentations 3:52-66

52 a“I have been hunted blike a bird
by those who were my enemies cwithout cause;
53 dthey flung me alive into the pit
eand cast stones on me;
54 fwater closed over my head;
I said, g‘I am lost.’
55 h“I called on your name, O Lord,
from the depths of the pit;
56 iyou heard my plea, ‘Do not close
your ear to my cry for help!’
57 jYou came near when I called on you;
you said, k‘Do not fear!’
58 “You have ltaken up my cause, mO Lord;
you have nredeemed my life.
59You have seen the wrong done to me, oO Lord;
judge my cause.
60You have seen all their vengeance,
all ptheir plots against me.
61 q“You have heard their taunts, O Lord,
all rtheir plots against me.
62The lips and thoughts sof my assailants
are against me all the day long.
63 tBehold their sitting and their rising;
uI am the object of their taunts.
64 v“You will repay them,
Or Repay them
O Lord,
xaccording to the work of their hands.
65You will give them
Or Give them
dullness of heart;
your curse will be
Or place your curse
on them.
66You will pursue them
Or Pursue them
in anger and abdestroy them
from under acyour heavens, O Lord.”
Syriac (compare Septuagint, Vulgate); Hebrew the heavens of the Lord
