Leviticus 1:3-10

3“If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer aa male without blemish. He shall bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the Lord. 4 bHe shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be caccepted for him dto make atonement for him. 5Then he shall kill the bull before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall bring the blood eand throw the blood against the sides of the altar that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 6Then he shall flay the burnt offering and cut it into pieces, 7and the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and farrange wood on the fire. 8And Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, the head, and the fat, on the wood that is on the fire on the altar; 9but its entrails and its legs he shall wash with water. And the priest shall burn all of it on the altar, as ga burnt offering, a food offering
Or  an offering by fire; so throughout Leviticus
with a ipleasing aroma to the Lord.

10If his gift for a burnt offering is from the flock, from the sheep or goats, he shall bring a male without blemish,

Leviticus 8:18-21

18 jThen he presented the ram of the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram. 19And he killed it, and Moses threw the blood against the sides of the altar. 20He cut the ram into pieces, and Moses burned kthe head and the pieces and the fat. 21He washed the entrails and the legs with water, and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering with a pleasing aroma, a food offering for the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

Leviticus 9:12-14

12Then he killed the burnt offering, and Aaron’s sons handed him the blood, and he lthrew it against the sides of the altar. 13 mAnd they handed the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head, and he burned them on the altar. 14 nAnd he washed the entrails and the legs and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.

Hebrews 10:1-22

Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All

1For since the law has but oa shadow pof the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, qit can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3But rin these sacrifices sthere is a reminder of sins every year. 4For tit is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5Consequently, uwhen Christ
Greek he
came into the world, he said,

wSacrifices and offerings you have not desired,
but a body have you prepared for me;
6in burnt offerings and sin offerings
you have taken no pleasure.
7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,
as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’”
8When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in xsacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), 9then he added, yBehold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. 10And by that will zwe have been sanctified through the offering of aathe body of Jesus Christ abonce for all.

11And every priest stands acdaily at his service, adoffering repeatedly the same sacrifices, aewhich can never take away sins. 12But when Christ
Greek this one
had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he agsat down at the right hand of God,
13waiting from that time ahuntil his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14For by a single offering aihe has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

15And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,

16 ajThis is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,”
17then he adds,

ak“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”
18Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

The Full Assurance of Faith

19 alTherefore, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
since we have confidence to enter anthe holy places by the blood of Jesus,
20by aothe new and living way that he opened for us through apthe curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21and since we have aqa great priest over the house of God, 22let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts arsprinkled clean asfrom an evil conscience and our bodies atwashed with pure water.
