Leviticus 10:11
11and ayou are to teach the people of Israel all the statutes that the Lord has spoken to them by Moses.”1 Kings 22:24
24Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near band struck Micaiah on the cheek and said, “How did the Spirit of the Lord go from me to speak to you?”Jeremiah 13:13-14
13Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord: cBehold, I will fill with drunkenness all the inhabitants of this land: dthe kings who sit on David’s throne, ethe priests, the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 14And I will fdash them one against another, fathers and sons together, declares the Lord. I will not pity or spare or have compassion, that I should not destroy them.’”Jeremiah 14:14-16
14And the Lord said to me: “The gprophets are prophesying lies in my name. hI did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, iworthless divination, and jthe deceit of their own minds. 15Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although kI did not send them, and who say, l‘Sword and famine shall not come upon this land’: mBy sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed. 16And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and sword, nwith none to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out their evil upon them.Jeremiah 29:25-29
25“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: You have sent letters in your name to all the people who are in Jerusalem, and to oZephaniah the son of pMaaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying, 26‘The Lord has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, to have qcharge in the house of the Lord rover every madman who prophesies, to put him in sthe stocks and neck irons. 27Now why have you not rebuked Jeremiah tof Anathoth who is prophesying to you? 28For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, “Your exile will be long; ubuild houses and live in them, and plant gardens and eat their produce.”’”29 vZephaniah the priest read this letter in the hearing of Jeremiah the prophet.
Malachi 2:7
7For wthe lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people ▼▼Hebrew they
should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
