9 a“Drink no wine or strong drink, you or your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations. 10You are to bdistinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean,

1 Kings 20:12

12When Ben-hadad heard this message as che was drinking with the kings in the booths, he said to his men, “Take your positions.” And they took their positions against the city.

1 Kings 20:16-20

16And they went out at noon, while Ben-hadad dwas drinking himself drunk in the booths, he and the thirty-two kings who helped him. 17The servants of the governors of the districts went out first. And Ben-hadad sent out scouts, and they reported to him, “Men are coming out from Samaria.” 18He said, “If they have come out for peace, take them alive. Or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”

19So these went out of the city, the servants of the governors of the districts and the army that followed them. 20And each struck down his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them, but Ben-hadad king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.

Esther 3:15

15 eThe couriers went out hurriedly by order of the king, and the decree was issued in Susa the citadel. And the king and Haman sat down to drink, fbut the city of Susa was thrown into confusion.

Ecclesiastes 10:17

17Happy are you, O land, when your king is the son of the nobility,
and your princes feast at the proper time,
for strength, and not for gdrunkenness!
