Leviticus 16:15-16

15 ^a“Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering that is for the people and bring its blood ^binside the veil and do with its blood as he did with the blood of the bull, sprinkling it over the mercy seat and in front of the mercy seat. 16 Thus he shall ^cmake atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleannesses of the people of Israel and because of their transgressions, all their sins. And so he shall do for the tent of meeting, which dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

Numbers 19:9

9 And a man who is clean shall gather up ^dthe ashes of the heifer and deposit them outside the camp in a ^eclean place. And they shall be kept for the water for ^fimpurity for the congregation of the people of Israel; it is a sin offering.

Numbers 19:17-19

17 For the unclean they shall take ^gsome ashes of the burnt sin offering, and fresh ^{▼▼Hebrew living} water shall be added in a vessel. 18 Then a clean person shall take ⁱhyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the furnishings and on the persons who were there and on whoever touched the bone, or the slain or the dead or the grave. 19 And the clean person shall sprinkle it on the unclean ^jon the third day and on the seventh day. ^kThus on the seventh day he shall cleanse him, and he shall ^lwash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and at evening he shall be clean.
