Lev 18:1-5, 19:37, 26:1-4, 13-16 | ESV | STEP | And the Lord spoke to Moses , saying ,

1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, ^aI am the Lord your God. 3 ^bYou shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and ^cyou shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. 4 ^dYou shall follow my rules ^{▼▼Or my just decrees; also verse 5} and keep my statutes and walk in them. ^fI am the Lord your God. 5 ^gYou shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; ^hif a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.

Leviticus 19:37

37 And ⁱyou shall observe all my statutes and all my rules, and do them: I am the Lord.”

Leviticus 26:1-4

Blessings for Obedience

1 “You shall not make ^jidols for yourselves or erect an ^kimage or ^lpillar, and you shall not set up a ^mfigured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God. 2 ⁿYou shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.

3 ^o“If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, 4 then ^pI will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Leviticus 26:13-16

13 ^qI am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves. ^rAnd I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.

Punishment for Disobedience

14 ^s“But if you will not listen to me and will not do all these commandments, 15 if you spurn my statutes, and if your soul abhors my rules, so that you will not do all my commandments, but ^tbreak my covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will visit you with panic, with ^uwasting disease and fever that consume the eyes and make the heart ache. And ^vyou shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
