Leviticus 18:24-28

24 ^a“Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, ^bfor by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, 25 and the ^cland became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land ^dvomited out its inhabitants. 26 But ^eyou shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the ^fnative or the stranger who sojourns among you 27 (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), 28 lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

Joshua 22:17-18

17 Have we not had enough of ^gthe sin at Peor from which even yet we have not cleansed ourselves, and for which there came a plague upon the congregation of the Lord, 18 that you too must turn away this day from following the Lord? And if ^hyou too rebel against the Lord today then tomorrow ⁱhe will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel.
