28lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

Leviticus 26:31-35

31And I will alay your cities waste and will bmake your sanctuaries desolate, and cI will not smell your pleasing aromas. 32And dI myself will devastate the land, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be eappalled at it. 33And fI will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 g“Then the land shall enjoy
Or pay for; twice in this verse; also verse 43
its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemiesland; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it.

Deuteronomy 29:28

28and the Lord iuprooted them from their land in anger and fury and great wrath, and jcast them into another land, as they are this day.’

Joshua 23:16

16if you transgress the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and bow down to them. Then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land that he has given to you.”

Jeremiah 44:22

22 tThe Lord could no longer bear your evil deeds and uthe abominations that you committed. vTherefore your land has become wa desolation and a waste and a curse, xwithout inhabitant, as it is this day.
