4 aYou shall follow my rules
Or  my just decrees; also verse 5
and keep my statutes and walk in them. cI am the Lord your God.
5 dYou shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; eif a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.

Deuteronomy 11:13-15

13“And if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, fto love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 ghe

will give the rain for your land in its season, ithe early rain and the later rain, that you may gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.
15 jAnd he will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and kyou shall eat and be full.

Blessings for Obedience

1“And lif you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you mhigh above all the nations of the earth. 2And all these blessings shall come upon you and novertake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. 3Blessed shall you be in the city, and oblessed shall you be in the field. 4Blessed shall be pthe fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. 5Blessed shall be your basket and your qkneading bowl. 6Blessed shall you be rwhen you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

7“The Lord swill cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8The Lord twill command the blessing on you in your barns and uin all that you undertake. vAnd he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 9 wThe Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. 10And xall the peoples of the earth shall see that you are ycalled by the name of the Lord, and they shall be zafraid of you. 11And aathe Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in abthe fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, acto give the rain to your land in its season and adto bless all the work of your hands. And aeyou shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13And the Lord will make you afthe head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, 14 agand if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Joshua 23:14-15

14“And now ahI am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that ainot one word has failed of all the good things
Or words; also twice in verse 15
that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed.
15But just as all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you have been fulfilled for you, so the Lord will bring upon you akall the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land that the Lord your God has given you,

Judges 2:1-2

Israel’s Disobedience

1Now the angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to alBochim. And he said, “I brought you up from Egypt and brought you into the land that I swore to give to your fathers. I said, am‘I will never break my covenant with you, 2 anand you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; aoyou shall break down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed my voice. What is this you have done?

Psalms 81:12-16

12So I apgave them over to their aqstubborn hearts,
to follow their own arcounsels.
13 asOh, that my people would listen to me,
that Israel would atwalk in my ways!
14I would soon subdue their enemies
and auturn my hand against their foes.
15Those who hate the Lord would avcringe toward him,
and their fate would last forever.
16But he would feed you
That is, Israel; Hebrew him
with axthe finest of the wheat,
and with ayhoney from the rock I would satisfy you.”
