Leviticus 18:6-23

6None of you shall approach any one of his close relatives to uncover nakedness. I am the Lord. 7 aYou shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 8 bYou shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife; it is your father’s nakedness. 9 cYou shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether brought up in the family or in another home. 10You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter or of your daughter’s daughter, for their nakedness is your own nakedness. 11You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, brought up in your father’s family, since she is your sister. 12You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s relative. 13You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s relative. 14You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother, that is, you shall not approach his wife; she is your aunt. 15 dYou shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness. 16 eYou shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness. 17You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are relatives; it is depravity. 18And you shall not take a woman as a frival wife to her sister, uncovering her nakedness gwhile her sister is still alive.

19 h“You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness while she is in her menstrual uncleanness. 20 iAnd you shall not lie sexually with your neighbor’s wife and so make yourself unclean with her. 21You shall not give any of your children to joffer them
Hebrew  to make them pass through [the fire]
to lMolech, and so mprofane the name of your God: I am the Lord.
22 nYou shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. 23 oAnd you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is pperversion.

18But uwhat comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. 19For out of the heart come vevil thoughts, wmurder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, xslander. 20 yThese are what defile a person. But zto eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”

10For Moses said, aaHonor your father and your mother’; and, ab‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)
Or an offering
12then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, 13thus admaking void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

What Defiles a Person

14And he called the people to him again and said to them, aeHear me, all of you, and understand: 15 afThere is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”
Some manuscripts add verse 16: If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear
17And when he had entered ahthe house and left the people, aihis disciples asked him about the parable. 18And he said to them, Then ajare you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him, 19since it enters not his heart akbut his stomach, and is expelled?”

( amThus he declared all foods clean.)
20And he said, anWhat comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, aomurder, adultery, 22coveting, wickedness, deceit, apsensuality, aqenvy, arslander, aspride, atfoolishness. 23 auAll these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”
