Leviticus 19:18

18 aYou shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but byou shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.

1 Samuel 24:10-15

10Behold, this day your eyes have seen how the Lord gave you today into my hand in the cave. cAnd some told me to kill you, but I spared you.
Septuagint, Syriac, Targum; Hebrew it [my eye] spared you
I said, ‘I will not put out my hand against my lord, efor he is the Lord’s anointed.’
11See, my father, see the corner of your robe in my hand. For by the fact that I cut off the corner of your robe and did not kill you, you may know and see that fthere is no wrong or treason in my hands. I have not sinned against you, though gyou hunt my life to take it. 12 hMay the Lord judge between me and you, may the Lord avenge me against you, but my hand shall not be against you. 13As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness.’ But my hand shall not be against you. 14After whom has the king of Israel come out? After whom do you pursue? iAfter a dead dog! jAfter a flea! 15 kMay the Lord therefore be judge and give sentence between me and you, and see to it and lplead my cause and deliver me from your hand.”

1 Samuel 25:31-34

31my lord shall have no cause of grief or pangs of conscience for having shed blood without cause or for my lord mworking salvation himself. And when the Lord has dealt well with my lord, then remember your servant.”

32And David said to Abigail, nBlessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me! 33Blessed be your discretion, and blessed be you, owho have kept me this day from bloodguilt pand from working salvation with my own hand! 34For as surely qas the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, rwho has restrained me from hurting you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, truly by morning there had not been left to Nabal so much as one male.”

1 Samuel 26:8-10

8Then Abishai said to David, sGod has given your enemy into your hand this day. Now please let me pin him to the earth with one stroke of the spear, and I will not strike him twice.” 9But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him, for who can put out his hand tagainst the Lord’s anointed and be guiltless?” 10And David said, u“As the Lord lives, vthe Lord will strike him, or whis day will come to die, xor he will go down into battle and perish.

Job 31:29-31

29 If I have yrejoiced at the ruin of him who hated me,
or exulted when evil overtook him
30( zI have not let my mouth sin
by asking for his life with a curse),
31if the men of my tent have not said,
Who is there that has not been filled with his aameat?’

Proverbs 20:22

22Do not say, ab“I will repay evil”;
acwait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.
