Leviticus 21:6

6They shall be holy to their God and anot profane the name of their God. For they offer the Lord’s food offerings, bthe bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.

Leviticus 21:8

8You shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for cI, the Lord, who sanctify you, dam holy.

21No man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to eoffer the Lord’s food offerings; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God. 22He may eat the bread of his God, both of fthe most holy and of the gholy things,

Malachi 1:7-8

7 hBy offering polluted food upon my altar. iBut you say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ By saying that jthe Lord’s table may be despised. 8 kWhen you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the Lord of hosts.

Malachi 1:12-14

12But you profane it when you say that lthe Lord’s table is polluted, and its fruit, that is, its food may be despised. 13But you say, mWhat a weariness this is,’ and you snort at it, says the Lord of hosts. nYou bring what has been taken by violence or is lame or sick, and this you bring as your offering! Shall I accept that from your hand? says the Lord. 14Cursed be the cheat who has oa male in his flock, and pvows it, and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished. For qI am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name rwill be feared among the nations.
