Leviticus 25:39-40

39 a“If your brother becomes poor beside you and sells himself to you, you shall not make him serve as a slave: 40he shall be with you as a hired worker and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee.

Leviticus 25:48

48then after he is sold he may be redeemed. One of his brothers may redeem him,

Nehemiah 5:2-5

2For there were those who said, “With our sons and our daughters, we are many. So let us get grain, that we may eat and keep alive.” 3There were also those who said, “We are mortgaging our fields, our vineyards, and our houses to get grain because of the famine.” 4And there were those who said, “We have borrowed money for bthe king’s tax on our fields and our vineyards. 5Now cour flesh is as the flesh of our brothers, our children are as their children. Yet dwe are forcing our sons and our daughters to be slaves, and some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but it is not in our power to help it, for other men have our fields and our vineyards.”

Nehemiah 10:31

31 eAnd if the peoples of the land bring in goods or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on a holy day. And we will forego the crops of the fseventh year and the gexaction of every debt.

Jeremiah 34:14

14 h‘At the end of seven years each of you must set free the fellow Hebrew who has been sold to you and has served you six years; iyou must set him free from your service.’ But jyour fathers did not listen to me or incline their ears to me.

Matthew 18:25

25 kAnd since he could not pay, his master ordered him lto be sold, with his wife and mchildren and all that he had, and payment to be made.
