17I will aset my face against you, and byou shall be struck down before your enemies. cThose who hate you shall rule over you, and dyou shall flee when none pursues you.

Leviticus 26:36

36And as for those of you who are left, eI will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The fsound of a gdriven leaf shall put them to flight, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall when none pursues.

Joshua 7:8-12

8O Lord, what can I say, when Israel has turned their backs before their enemies! 9For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and lcut off our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?”

The Sin of Achan

10The Lord said to Joshua, “Get up! Why have you fallen on your face? 11Israel has sinned; they have mtransgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the ndevoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings. 12 oTherefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies. They pturn their backs before their enemies, because they have become qdevoted for destruction.
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
I will be with you no more, unless you destroy sthe devoted things from among you.

Jeremiah 39:4-7

4When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled, going out of the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the gate between the two walls; and they went toward tthe Arabah. 5But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in uthe plains of Jericho. And when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, at vRiblah, in the land of Hamath; wand he passed sentence on him. 6The king of Babylon xslaughtered the sons of Zedekiah at yRiblah before his eyes, and the king of Babylon zslaughtered all the nobles of Judah. 7 aaHe put out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him in chains to take him to Babylon.

Jeremiah 49:26

26 abTherefore her young men shall fall in her squares,
and all her soldiers shall be destroyed in that day,

declares the Lord of hosts.

Jeremiah 51:32

32the fords have been acseized,
the marshes are burned with fire,
and the soldiers are in panic.
