Leviticus 26:17

17I will aset my face against you, and byou shall be struck down before your enemies. cThose who hate you shall rule over you, and dyou shall flee when none pursues you.

Deuteronomy 4:24-27

24For ethe Lord your God is a consuming fire, fa jealous God.

25When you father children and children’s children, and have grown old in the land, gif you act corruptly by making a carved image in the form of anything, and hby doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to anger, 26I icall heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long in it, but will be utterly destroyed. 27And the Lord jwill scatter you among the peoples, kand you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you.

Deuteronomy 28:25

25 l“The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you mshall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Judges 2:14

14 nSo the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he ogave them over to plunderers, who plundered them. pAnd he sold them into the hand of their surrounding enemies, qso that they could no longer withstand their enemies.

Judges 3:8

8Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, rand he sold them into the hand of sCushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia. And the people of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years.

Judges 10:7-14

7So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and the sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the Ammonites, 8and they crushed and oppressed the people of Israel that year. For eighteen years they oppressed all the people of Israel who were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead. 9And the Ammonites crossed the Jordan to fight also against Judah and against Benjamin and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was severely distressed.

10And the people of Israel ucried out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against you, because vwe have forsaken our God and have served the Baals.” 11And the Lord said to the people of Israel, “Did I not save you wfrom the Egyptians and xfrom the Amorites, yfrom the Ammonites and zfrom the Philistines? 12The Sidonians also, and aathe Amalekites and the Maonites oppressed you, and you cried out to me, and I absaved you out of their hand. 13Yet you have acforsaken me and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more. 14Go and cry out adto the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.”

Isaiah 10:5-6

Judgment on Arrogant Assyria

5 Woe to Assyria, aethe rod of my anger;
the staff in their hands is my fury!

and against the people of my wrath I command him,
to take agspoil and seize plunder,
