Leviticus 26:31-35

31And I will alay your cities waste and will bmake your sanctuaries desolate, and cI will not smell your pleasing aromas. 32And dI myself will devastate the land, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be eappalled at it. 33And fI will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 g“Then the land shall enjoy
Or pay for; twice in this verse; also verse 43
its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemiesland; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it.

Deuteronomy 28:49-52

49 iThe Lord will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, jswooping down like the eagle, a nation kwhose language you do not understand, 50a hard-faced nation lwho shall not respect the old or show mercy to the young. 51It shall meat the offspring of your cattle and the fruit of your ground, until you are destroyed; it also shall not leave you grain, wine, or oil, the increase of your herds or the young of your flock, until they have caused you to perish.

52“They shall nbesiege you in all your towns, until your high and fortified walls, in which you trusted, come down throughout all your land. And they shall besiege you in all your towns throughout all your land, which the Lord your God has given you.

2 Chronicles 36:4-10

4And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. But Neco took Jehoahaz his brother and carried him to Egypt.

5 oJehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord his God. 6 pAgainst him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon qand bound him in chains rto take him to Babylon. 7 sNebuchadnezzar also carried part of the vessels of the house of the Lord to Babylon and put them in his palace in Babylon. 8 tNow the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and the abominations that he did, and what was found against him, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah. And Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

9 uJehoiachin was eighteen
Septuagint (compare 2 Kings 24:8); most Hebrew manuscripts eight
years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.
10In wthe spring of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, xwith the precious vessels of the house of the Lord, and made his brother yZedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 2:3

3I said to the king, z“Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, aawhen the city, the place of my fathersgraves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?”

Isaiah 27:10-11

10 abFor the fortified city is solitary,
a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness;
there the calf grazes;
there it lies down and strips its branches.
11When its boughs are dry, they are broken;
women come and make a fire of them.
acFor this is a people without discernment;
therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them;
he who formed them will show them no favor.
