Leviticus 26:33-35

33And aI will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 b“Then the land shall enjoy
Or pay for; twice in this verse; also verse 43
its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemiesland; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it.

Deuteronomy 29:23

23the whole land burned out with brimstone and dsalt, nothing sown and nothing growing, where no plant can sprout, ean overthrow like that of Sodom and Gomorrah, fAdmah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger and wrath

Isaiah 5:9-10

9The Lord of hosts has sworn in my hearing:
gSurely many houses shall be desolate,
large and beautiful houses, without inhabitant.
10 hFor ten acres
Hebrew  ten yoke, the area ten yoke of oxen can plow in a day
of vineyard shall yield but one bath,
and a jhomer of seed shall yield but an ephah.”
A  bath was about 6 gallons or 22 liters; a  homer was about 6 bushels or 220 liters; an  ephah was about 3/5 bushel or 22 liters

Isaiah 6:11-12

11Then I said, l“How long, O Lord?”
And he said:
Until mcities lie waste
without inhabitant,
and houses without people,
and the land is a desolate waste,
12and the Lord removes people far away,
and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.

Isaiah 24:1-3

Judgment on the Whole Earth

1 Behold, nthe Lord will empty the earth
Or land; also throughout this chapter
and make it desolate,
and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.
2 pAnd it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
as with the slave, so with his master;
as with the maid, so with her mistress;
qas with the buyer, so with the seller;
as with the lender, so with the borrower;
ras with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 sThe earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
tfor the Lord has spoken this word.

Isaiah 24:12

12Desolation is left in the city;
the gates are battered into ruins.

Isaiah 32:13-14

13 ufor the soil of my people
growing up in thorns and briers,
vyes, for all the joyous houses
in the exultant city.
14For the palace is forsaken,
the populous city deserted;
the hill and the watchtower
will become dens forever,
wa joy of wild donkeys,
a pasture of flocks;
