Leviticus 26:33-39

33And aI will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 b“Then the land shall enjoy
Or pay for; twice in this verse; also verse 43
its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemiesland; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it. 36And as for those of you who are left, dI will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The esound of a fdriven leaf shall put them to flight, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall when none pursues. 37They shall stumble over one another, as if to escape a sword, though none pursues. And gyou shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39And those of you who are left shall hrot away in your enemieslands because of their iniquity, and also because of the iniquities of their fathers they shall rot away like them.

Isaiah 6:11-13

11Then I said, i“How long, O Lord?”
And he said:
Until jcities lie waste
without inhabitant,
and houses without people,
and the land is a desolate waste,
12and the Lord removes people far away,
and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13 kAnd though a tenth remain in it,
it will be burned
Or purged
again,
like a terebinth or an oak,
whose stump mremains
when it is felled.”
nThe holy seed
Or offspring
is its stump.

Isaiah 24:3-8

3 pThe earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
qfor the Lord has spoken this word.
4 rThe earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.
5The earth lies sdefiled
under its inhabitants;
for tthey have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.
6Therefore ua curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants vsuffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left.
7 wThe wine mourns,
the vine languishes,
all the merry-hearted sigh.
8 xThe mirth of the tambourines is stilled,
the noise of the jubilant has ceased,
the mirth of the lyre is stilled.

Jeremiah 25:11

11 yThis whole land shall become a ruin and a waste, and zthese nations shall serve the king of Babylon aaseventy years.

Daniel 4:26-27

26And as it was commanded abto leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be confirmed for you from the time that you know that Heaven rules. 27Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: break off your sins by acpracticing righteousness, adand your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, aethat there may perhaps be a lengthening of your prosperity.”
