Leviticus 26:33-46

33And aI will scatter you among the nations, and I will unsheathe the sword after you, and your land shall be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

34 b“Then the land shall enjoy
Or pay for; twice in this verse; also verse 43
its Sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, while you are in your enemiesland; then the land shall rest, and enjoy its Sabbaths.
35As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, the rest that it did not have on your Sabbaths when you were dwelling in it. 36And as for those of you who are left, dI will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The esound of a fdriven leaf shall put them to flight, and they shall flee as one flees from the sword, and they shall fall when none pursues. 37They shall stumble over one another, as if to escape a sword, though none pursues. And gyou shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38And you shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39And those of you who are left shall hrot away in your enemieslands because of their iniquity, and also because of the iniquities of their fathers they shall rot away like them.

40“But if ithey confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery that they jcommitted against me, and also in walking contrary to me, 41so that I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemiesif then their kuncircumcised heart is lhumbled and they make amends for their iniquity, 42then I will mremember my covenant with Jacob, and I will remember my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will nremember the land. 43But othe land shall be abandoned by them and enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my rules and their soul abhorred my statutes. 44Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, pI will not spurn them, neither will I abhor them so as to destroy them utterly and qbreak my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God. 45But I will for their sake remember the covenant with their forefathers, rwhom I brought out of the land of Egypt sin the sight of the nations, that I might be their God: I am the Lord.”

46 tThese are the statutes and rules and laws that the Lord made between himself and the people of Israel through Moses uon Mount Sinai.

Deuteronomy 4:25-27

25When you father children and children’s children, and have grown old in the land, vif you act corruptly by making a carved image in the form of anything, and wby doing what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, so as to provoke him to anger, 26I xcall heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long in it, but will be utterly destroyed. 27And the Lord ywill scatter you among the peoples, zand you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you.

Deuteronomy 28:64

64“And the Lord aawill scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and abthere you shall serve other gods acof wood and stone, adwhich neither you nor your fathers have known.

Deuteronomy 32:26-28

26 aeI would have said, “I will cut them to pieces;
afI will wipe them from human memory,”
27had I not feared provocation by the enemy,
lest their adversaries should misunderstand,
lest they should say, ag“Our hand is triumphant,
it was not the Lord who did all this.”’
28 For they are a nation void of counsel,
and there is ahno understanding in them.

1 Kings 9:6-7

6 aiBut if you turn aside from following me, you or your children, and do not keep my commandments and my statutes that I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them, 7 ajthen I will cut off Israel from the land that I have given them, akand the house that I have consecrated for my name I will cast out of my sight, aland Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
