Leviticus 27:30-33

30 aEvery tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord. 31If a man wishes to redeem some of his tithe, he shall add a fifth to it. 32And every tithe of herds and flocks, every tenth animal of all that bpass under the herdsman’s staff, shall be holy to the Lord. 33One shall not differentiate between good or bad, cneither shall he make a substitute for it; and if he does substitute for it, then both it and the substitute shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.”

Numbers 18:24

24For the tithe of the people of Israel, which dthey present as a contribution to the Lord, I have given to the Levites for an inheritance. Therefore I have said of them that they shall have no inheritance eamong the people of Israel.”

Malachi 3:8

8Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. fBut you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ gIn your tithes and contributions.

Matthew 23:23-24

23 hWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For iyou tithe mint and dill and jcumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: kjustice and mercy and faithfulness. lThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 24You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing ma camel!
