Luk 1:67-79 | ESV | STEP | And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied , saying ,

67 And his father Zechariah ^awas filled with the Holy Spirit and ^bprophesied, saying,

68 ^c“Blessed be the Lord ^dGod of Israel,
for he has ^evisited and ^fredeemed his people
69 and ^ghas raised up ^ha horn of salvation for us
ⁱin the house of his servant David,
70 ^jas ^khe spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
71 ^lthat we should be saved from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us;
72 ^mto show the mercy promised to our fathers
and ⁿto remember his holy ^ocovenant,
73 ^pthe oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
74 that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve him ^qwithout fear,
75 ^rin holiness and righteousness before him ^sall our days.
76 And you, child, will be called ^tthe prophet of ^uthe Most High;
for ^vyou will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people
^win the forgiveness of their sins,
78 because of the ^xtender mercy of our God,
whereby ^ythe sunrise shall ^zvisit us ^{▼▼Or when the sunrise shall dawn upon us; some manuscripts since the sunrise has visited us} ^abfrom on high
79 to ^acgive light to ^adthose who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into ^aethe way of ^afpeace.”
