Luke 1:68-79

68 aBlessed be the Lord bGod of Israel,
for he has cvisited and dredeemed his people
69and ehas raised up fa horn of salvation for us
gin the house of his servant David,
70 has ihe spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
71 jthat we should be saved from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us;
72 kto show the mercy promised to our fathers
and lto remember his holy mcovenant,
73 nthe oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
74that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve him owithout fear,
75 pin holiness and righteousness before him qall our days.
76And you, child, will be called rthe prophet of sthe Most High;
for tyou will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
77to give knowledge of salvation to his people
uin the forgiveness of their sins,
78because of the vtender mercy of our God,
whereby wthe sunrise shall xvisit us
Or when the sunrise shall dawn upon us; some manuscripts since the sunrise has visited us
zfrom on high
79to aagive light to abthose who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into acthe way of adpeace.”
