Luke 11:26

26Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And athe last state of that person is worse than the first.”

Hebrews 6:4-8

4For it is impossible, in the case of those bwho have once been enlightened, who have tasted cthe heavenly gift, and dhave shared in the Holy Spirit, 5and ehave tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6and fthen have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since gthey are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. 7For hland that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8But iif it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, jand its end is to be burned.

Hebrews 10:26-31

26For kif we go on sinning deliberately lafter receiving the knowledge of the truth, mthere no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 nbut a fearful expectation of judgment, and oa fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. 28 pAnyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy qon the evidence of two or three witnesses. 29How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one rwho has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned sthe blood of the covenant tby which he was sanctified, and has uoutraged the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, vVengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, w“The Lord will judge his people.” 31 xIt is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 10:39

39But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

2 Peter 2:14-22

14They have eyes full of adultery, yinsatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts ztrained in greed. aaAccursed children! 15Forsaking the right way, abthey have gone astray. They have followed acthe way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved adgain from wrongdoing, 16but was rebuked for his own transgression; aea speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

17 afThese are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm. agFor them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. 18For, ahspeaking loud boasts of folly, they entice by sensual passions of the flesh those who are barely aiescaping from those who live in error. 19They promise them ajfreedom, akbut they themselves are slaves

of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
20For if, amafter they have escaped the defilements of the world anthrough the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, aothe last state has become worse for them than the first. 21For apit would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from aqthe holy commandment delivered to them. 22What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The ardog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

1 John 5:16-17

16If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and asGod
Greek he
will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. auThere is sin that leads to death; avI do not say that one should pray for that.
17 awAll wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that does not lead to death.
