Luke 11:47-51

47 aWoe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed. 48 bSo you are witnesses and you cconsent to the deeds of dyour fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs. 49Therefore also ethe Wisdom of God said, f‘I will send them gprophets and apostles, hsome of whom they will ikill and persecute,’ 50so that jthe blood of all the prophets, shed kfrom the foundation of the world, may be lcharged against this generation, 51from the blood of mAbel to the blood of nZechariah, who perished between othe altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be prequired of this generation.

to the tenants, so that xthey would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. yBut the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
11 zAnd aahe sent another servant. But they also beat and abtreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 acAnd he sent yet a third. This one also they wounded and cast out. 13Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my adbeloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’ 14But when the tenants saw him, they said to themselves, aeThis is the heir. afLet us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.’ 15And they agthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?
