Luke 11:49-51

49 Therefore also ^athe Wisdom of God said, ^b‘I will send them ^cprophets and apostles, ^dsome of whom they will ^ekill and persecute,’ 50 so that ^fthe blood of all the prophets, shed ^gfrom the foundation of the world, may be ^hcharged against this generation, 51 from the blood of ⁱAbel to the blood of ^jZechariah, who perished between ^kthe altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be ^lrequired of this generation.
