53 As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things,

Luke 23:2

2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We found this man ^amisleading our nation and ^bforbidding us to give tribute to ^cCaesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, ^da king.”

Luke 23:5

5 But they were urgent, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, ^efrom Galilee even to this place.”

14 and said to them, “You brought me this man ^fas one who was misleading the people. And ^gafter examining him before you, behold, I ^hdid not find this man guilty of any of your charges against him. 15 Neither did Herod, for ⁱhe sent him back to us. Look, nothing deserving death has been done by him.
