14 aThe Pharisees, who were blovers of money, heard all these things, and they cridiculed him.

John 8:52

30The man answered, “Why, this is gan amazing thing! hYou do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes. 31We know that iGod does not listen to sinners, but jif anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. 32Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. 33 kIf this man were not from God, he could do nothing.” 34They answered him, lYou were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they mcast him out.

John 9:40

40Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, nAre we also blind?”

Acts 17:18

18Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, qWhat does this babbler wish to say?” Others said, “He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities”—because rhe was preaching sJesus and the resurrection.

1 Corinthians 1:21-24

21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach
Or  the folly of preaching
to save those who believe.
22For xJews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ ycrucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ zthe power of God and aathe wisdom of God.
