7But kwhatever gain I had, lI counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8Indeed, I count everything as loss because of mthe surpassing worth of nknowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I ohave suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having pa righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but qthat which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith

so give her a like measure of torment and mourning,
since in her heart she says,
s‘I sit as a queen,
I am no widow,
and mourning I shall never see.’
8For this reason her plagues will come tin a single day,
death and mourning and famine,
and ushe will be burned up with fire;
for vmighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
