Luke 21:12-15

12But before all this athey will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to bthe synagogues and cprisons, and you dwill be brought before ekings and fgovernors for my name’s sake. 13 gThis will be your opportunity to bear witness. 14Settle it therefore in your minds hnot to meditate beforehand how to answer, 15for iI will give you a mouth and jwisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or kcontradict.

Acts 21:39-40

39Paul replied, lI am a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no obscure city. I beg you, permit me to speak to the people.” 40And when he had given him permission, Paul, standing on the steps, mmotioned with his hand to the people. And when there was a great hush, he addressed them in nthe Hebrew language,

Paul’s Defense Before Agrippa

1So sAgrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” Then Paul stretched out his hand and made his defense:

2“I consider myself fortunate that it is before you, King Agrippa, I am going to make my defense today tagainst all the accusations of the Jews,

14 uBut even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. vHave no fear of them, wnor be troubled, 15but xin your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, yalways being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and zrespect,
