Jesus Cleanses the Temple

13 hThe Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus iwent up to Jerusalem. 14 jIn the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16And he told those who sold the pigeons, Take these things away; do not make kmy Father’s house a house of trade.” 17His disciples remembered that it was written, lZeal for your house will consume me.”

John 7:37-39

Rivers of Living Water

37 mOn the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, nIf anyone thirsts, let him ocome to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, pas
Or  let him come to me, and let him who believes in me drink. As
the Scripture has said, rOut of his heart will flow rivers of sliving water.’”
39Now tthis he said about the Spirit, uwhom those who believed in him were to receive, vfor as yet the Spirit had not been wgiven, xbecause Jesus was not yet glorified.

31 anThe Jews picked up stones again to stone him. 32Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” 33The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but aofor blasphemy, because you, being a man, apmake yourself God.” 34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in aqyour Law, arI said, you are gods’? 35If he called them gods to whom the word of God cameand Scripture cannot be asbroken 36do you say of him whom atthe Father consecrated and ausent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because avI said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 awIf I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; 38but if I do them, axeven though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that aythe Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
