45 Then ^ahe opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus ^bit is written, ^cthat the Christ should suffer and on the third day ^drise from the dead, 47 and that ^erepentance for the ^{▼▼Some manuscripts for} forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ^gin his name ^hto all nations, ⁱbeginning from Jerusalem. 48 ^jYou are witnesses of these things. 49 And behold, I am sending ^kthe promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you ^lare clothed with ^mpower ⁿfrom on high.”

The Ascension

50 And ^ohe led them out as far as ^pBethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51 While he blessed them, ^qhe parted from them and was carried up into heaven.

John 17:9-13

9 I am praying for them. ^rI am not praying for the world but for those ^swhom you have given me, for ^tthey are yours. 10 ^uAll mine are yours, and yours are mine, and ^vI am glorified in them. 11 And I am no longer in the world, but ^wthey are in the world, and ^xI am coming to you. ^yHoly Father, ^zkeep them in your name, ^aawhich you have given me, ^abthat they may be one, ^aceven as we are one. 12 ^adWhile I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have ^aeguarded them, and ^afnot one of them has been lost except ^agthe son of destruction, ^ahthat the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now ^aiI am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have ^ajmy joy fulfilled in themselves.

Acts 1:8

36 And when he had said these things, ^cdhe knelt down and prayed with them all.
