Luke 4:16-20

Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

16 aAnd he came to bNazareth, where he had been brought up. And cas was his custom, dhe went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and he stood up eto read. 17And fthe scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,

18 g“The Spirit of the Lord his upon me,
because he has anointed me
to iproclaim good news to the poor.
jHe has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and krecovering of sight to the blind,
lto set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19 mto proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
20And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and nsat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were ofixed on him.

Acts 13:15

15After pthe reading from qthe Law and the Prophets, rthe rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any sword of encouragement for the people, say it.”

Acts 13:27

27For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because tthey did not recognize him nor understand uthe utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, vfulfilled them by condemning him.

Acts 15:21

21For from ancient generations Moses has had in every city those who proclaim him, wfor he is read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”
