3 The devil said to him, “If you are ^athe Son of God, command ^bthis stone to become bread.” 4 And Jesus answered him, ^c“It is written, ^d‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’” 5 ^eAnd the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, 6 and said to him, “To you ^fI will give all this authority and their glory, ^gfor it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7 If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” 8 And Jesus answered him, ^h“It is written,

ⁱ“‘You shall worship the Lord your God,
and ^jhim only shall you serve.’”
9 ^kAnd he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are ^lthe Son of God, throw yourself down from here, 10 for it is written,

^m“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
to guard you,’
11 and

ⁿ“‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
12 And Jesus answered him, “It is said, ^o‘You shall not ^pput the Lord your God to the test.’”

Ephesians 4:27

27 and ^qgive no opportunity to the devil.

Ephesians 6:11-13

11 ^rPut on ^sthe whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against ^tthe schemes of the devil. 12 For ^uwe do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against ^vthe rulers, against the authorities, against ^wthe cosmic powers over ^xthis present darkness, against ^ythe spiritual forces of evil ^zin the heavenly places. 13 Therefore ^aatake up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in ^abthe evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

James 4:7

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. ^acResist the devil, and he will flee from you.
