Luke 8:41-42

41 aAnd there came a man named Jairus, who was ba ruler of the synagogue. And falling at Jesusfeet, he implored him to come to his house, 42for he had can only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying.

As Jesus went, the people dpressed around him.

Luke 8:49-56

49While he was still speaking, someone from ethe ruler’s house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; fdo not trouble gthe Teacher any more.” 50But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” 51And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except hPeter and iJohn and James, and the father and mother of the child. 52And all were weeping and jmourning for her, but he ksaid, “Do not weep, for lshe is not dead but msleeping.” 53And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. 54But ntaking her by the hand he called, saying, Child, oarise.” 55And pher spirit returned, and she got up at once. And he directed that something should be given her to eat. 56And her parents were amazed, but qhe charged them to tell no one what had happened.
