The Purpose of the Parables

9And when his disciples asked him what this parable meant, 10he said, c“To you it has been given to know dthe secrets of the kingdom of God, but for others they are in parables, so ethatseeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

2 Timothy 3:15-17

That is, a messenger of God (the phrase echoes a common Old Testament expression)
may be complete, nequipped ofor every good work.

James 1:5
