Who Is the Greatest?
46 aAn argument arose among them as to which of them was the greatest. 47But Jesus, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a child and put him by his side 48and said to them, b“Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and cwhoever receives me receives him who sent me. For dhe who is least among you all is the one who is great.”Anyone Not Against Us Is For Us
49 eJohn answered, “Master, we saw someone fcasting out demons in your name, and gwe tried to stop him, because he does not follow with us.” 50But Jesus said to him, “Do not stop him, hfor the one who is not against you is for you.”Luke 22:24-27
Who Is the Greatest?
24 iA dispute also arose among them, as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest. 25 jAnd he said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles kexercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors. 26 lBut not so with you. Rather, let mthe greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves. 27For who is the greater, none who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But oI am among you as the one who serves.
