Herod Is Perplexed by Jesus

7 ^aNow ^bHerod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that ^cJohn had been raised from the dead, 8 ^dby some that Elijah had appeared, and ^eby others that one of the prophets of old had risen. 9 Herod said, “John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And ^fhe sought to see him.

Luke 23:8

8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was very glad, ^gfor he had long desired to see him, ^hbecause he had heard about him, and he was hoping ⁱto see some sign done by him.

John 12:21
